Unlike many standard email server anti-virus applications, Mailprotector handles the complete deconstruction of an email message before it reaches the anti-virus engine. Email server anti-virus vendors are good at scanning for viruses.

Email server anti-virus vendors aren't quite so good at decoding complex MIME email messages and attachments. Once a message has been properly decoded, it is then handed off for complete anti-virus scanning.

Since we don't release the names of the anti-virus scanning engines that Mailprotector employs (for security reasons) we are free to use some packages that provide superior anti-virus protection without factoring "marketing impact" into our decisions.

This combination of vulnerability detection, expert decoding, and enhanced anti-virus processing gives Mailprotector a clear advantage in the email virus protection wars.
